• Sidney A. Hayakawa, federal security director at Honolulu airport, will detail transportation-related security changes at Hawai'i's two points of entry — the airport and the state's docks — in the third of a series of Homeland Security Programs, sponsored by the JAPAN-AMERICA SOCIETY of Hawai'i. Hayakawa is a former member of the Honolulu Police Department, and was the first Asian American in the Drug Enforcement Administration to reach senior inspector rank. • "Tech and Telecom Regulation in Hawai'i," will be the focus in the next of a monthly "ThinkTech Law Series," sponsored by ThinkTech Hawai'i. The series offers discussions on legal subjects of interest to high-tech entrepreneurs and professions, presented by local and visiting business attorneys practicing in areas relating to technology. The discussion is scheduled 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the University of Hawai'i Outreach College-Downtown, 900 Fort Street Mall, lower level. Participating will be attorneys Alan M. • The MINORITY BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER OF HONO-LULU will offer free weekly orientation sessions to minority business owners and prospective entrepreneurs. The sessions, scheduled 9 to 10:30 a.m. every Tuesday in the center's offices in Suite 2506 of the Executive Center, 1088 Bishop St., will offer advice on business startup, marketing plans, loans, employee handbooks and access to capital. • A free COMPUTER BOOT CAMP is offered 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays to all small-business owners interested in using computer technology to improve and expand business operations and management. The program is sponsored by the Small Business Resource Center, in partnership with the Small Business Administration, the city Office of Economic Development, Hawai'i Small Business Development Center Network, Hawai'i Women's Business Center, and SCORE.
