Cal-State Fullerton freshman Kelly Figueira led the contingent of Hawai'i women athletes last weekend at the University of Washington Indoor Invitational — a meet with 350 competitors, including Nike professionals and large teams from Stanford, host Washington and other NCAA powerhouses.

Former prep track and field stars from Hawai'i reunited at the University of Washington Invitational last weekend. They are, from left, Washington's Lauran Dignam (Iolani), Portland State's Annie Kawasaki (St. Francis) and Oregon's Eri Macdonald (Punahou) and Alicia Snyder-Carlson (St. Anthony).

Figueira, a 2002 Sacred Hearts graduate from Kaimuki, placed sixth in the long jump at 17 feet, 6 3/4 inches. She was 13th in the 60-meter dash at 8.05 seconds.

Puget Sound (Wash.) freshman Nicolette Rowe (Hilo '02), a two-time state champion, finished eighth in the pole vault at 10 feet, 2 inches.

Oregon's Eri Macdonald (Punahou '99 of Kailua), who is redshirting the indoor season and ran unattached, won her heat and was ninth overall in the mile in 4:54.72. Oregon's Alicia Snyder-Carlson (St. Anthony '99 of Kihei) was 19th in the same race.

Washington freshman Lauran Dignam (Iolani '02 of 'Aina Haina) finished 11th in the 400-meter dash in 57.48 and ran the third leg on the Huskies' third-place 4x400 relay team.

Portland State sophomore Annie Kawasaki (St. Francis '01 of Makiki) finished 14th and San Diego State freshman Christal Cuadra (Maryknoll '02 of Manoa) finished 16th in the 3,000-meter run in 10:25.59 and 10:32.40, respectively.

Sophomore Aimee Cama (Hilo '01) led off University of Portland's sixth-place 4x400 relay team and was 37th in the 400.

"It was a huge meet, lots of really good competition," said Kawasaki. "The girls of Hawai'i are getting it done!"

No results of men from Hawai'i were reported.
