Ilikai workers ratify contract
Renaissance Ilikai Waikiki hotel employees have overwhelmingly ratified a four-year contract similar to six other hotel union contracts settled in recent months.
The 187-2 vote means increased employer contributions to the retirement plan for the Ilikai's more than 300 unionized workers and a slight bump in pay, union officials said. The Local 5 Hotel Employees & Restaurant Employees Union negotiates contracts with eight Waikiki hotels.
"Now that Ilikai is settled," union spokesman Jason Ward said, "we can focus our attention on the Ala Moana Hotel, the remaining hotel."
