Bank's parent sets dividend

CB Bancshares Inc., parent of City Bank, yesterday declared a cash dividend of 11 cents per common share for the first quarter of 2003.

The dividend is payable March 31 to shareholders of record on March 17.

The company has $1.5 billion in total assets and operates 21 branches in the state.


Orlando to get Hilo Hattie store

Hilo Hattie, a Honolulu-based clothing retailer, announced yesterday it will open its sixth store on the Mainland in Orlando, Fla., on April 3.

The 6,000-square-foot store will follow stores the company has opened in California, Tennessee, Nevada, Arizona and Miami.


Ilikai workers ratify contract

Renaissance Ilikai Waikiki hotel employees have overwhelmingly ratified a four-year contract similar to six other hotel union contracts settled in recent months.

The 187-2 vote means increased employer contributions to the retirement plan for the Ilikai's more than 300 unionized workers and a slight bump in pay, union officials said. The Local 5 Hotel Employees & Restaurant Employees Union negotiates contracts with eight Waikiki hotels.

"Now that Ilikai is settled," union spokesman Jason Ward said, "we can focus our attention on the Ala Moana Hotel, the remaining hotel."
