Freshman Andrea Fukuhara's shot gave 'Aiea a 6-5 edge in penalty kicks and a 1-0 victory over King Kekaulike in the Meadow Gold Girls State Soccer Championship last night at War Memorial Stadium on Maui.

The game was scoreless through 80 minutes of regulation and two 10-minute overtimes, forcing the penalty-kick shootout.

The score was 4-4 after the first five kickers by each team. It was still tied (5-5) after the seventh kicker from each team before Fukuhara decided the outcome.

'Aiea (12-3-0), the Oahu Interscholastic Association's third-place team, plays Big Island champion and No. 4 seed Hawai'i Prep (12-1) tonight at 5:30.

King Kekaulike (9-3-1), Maui's runner-up, slipped into the consolation round.

In yesterday's other first-round games:

Kahuku 4, Kealakehe 3: Senior Krisha Kai scored four goals as the Red Raiders (9-4-1) defeated the Waveriders (11-4).

Kai's goal at 64:43 tied the score at 3. She then capped her four-goal day with the go-ahead shot at 71:47 to put Kahuku into the quarterfinals.

Kahuku, which finished fourth in the O'ahu Interscholastic Association, will play Interscholastic League of Honolulu champion and second-seeded Punahou (9-0-1) today at 1:30 p.m.

Laura Franke, Jessica Parker and Olivia Heslinga scored for Kealakehe, the Big Island Interscholastic Federation's runner-up.

Kalaheo 2, Kaua'i 1: Tina Garcia (55:38) and Anela Gonzales (65:41) scored second-half goals to lift the Mustangs (10-2-3) over the Red Raiders (5-2-2).

Holly Iloreta's goal at 46:27 gave the Kaua'i Interscholastic Federation champions a 1-0 lead. Kaua'i had taken 15 shots in a scoreless first half to none for Kalaheo.

Goalie Alexis Leighton made 10 saves for the Mustangs, the OIA's fifth-place team. They advance to play OIA champion and No. 1 seed Mililani (12-0-1) today at 3:30.

Pearl City 3, Hilo 2, OT: The Chargers spotted the Vikings a 2-0 halftime lead, then won it in overtime on Kari Tanimoto's second goal of the game at 87:26.

Chelsea Arakawa also scored for Pearl City (12-1-1) as the OIA's runner-up advanced to play third-seeded Maui champion Baldwin (12-0) tonight at 7:30.

Rachel Clevenger and Rodlyn Segawa scored for the Vikings (11-3), the Big Island's third-place team. Goalie Joelle Teasley made nine saves as Pearl City was credited with 22 shots.
