Tonight's Must-See

"Real Time With Bill Maher," 9:30 p.m, and "Da Ali G Show," 10:30 p.m., premiere on HBO.

Maher has a new spot for his topical wit. This show includes small bits of standup comedy plus larger forums discussing issues. In short it will be a lot like "Politically Incorrect." Make sure you stick around afterward for "Ali G." He takes political incorrectness to brilliant extremes. British comic Sacha Baron Cohen, who steps into three characters, created the show. He's Ali G, a "hip-hop journalist," when introducing the show and doing some reports. In other skits he's Borat from Kazakhstan and Austrian fashion reporter Bruno.

Of Note

"Nutty Professor II: The Klumps" (2000), 7 p.m., NBC. Eddie Murphy returns to his bizarre roles as the overweight Klump clan and a slimmed-down ladies' man.

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," 9 p.m., NBC. A young woman has apparently committed suicide at the home of a prominent family. The episode includes guest appearances by Michael Learned (the four-time Emmy winner on "The Waltons") and Mariette Hartley.
