Teen C.A.R.E. on national list

A local school-based substance abuse treatment program operating in 12 public schools — which allows students to seek help anonymously for alcohol and drug use — has been included in a national exemplary programs list. Teen C.A.R.E. (Counseling, Awareness, Rehabilitation and Education), a program of the Windward O'ahu drug treatment program Hina Mauka, is included among 144 programs in the comprehensive guide, "Treating Teens: A Guide to Adolescent Drug Programs," published by Drug Strategies.
