CLASSES

Sports Performax: Kaiser Permanente's next six-week Sports Performax class begins March 19.

The class meets three times a week from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Honolulu Clinic (South King and Pensacola).

It is designed for female athletes 13 to 19. The goal is to increase sports performance while decreasing the chance of getting injured.

The class is run by exercise physiologist Marc Iyomasa. In the two years since its start, Iyomasa has seen participants increase their vertical jump by an average of four inches and their strength by an average of 25 percent.

Cost is $150. Participants do not need to be Kaiser Permanente members. For more information, call Iyomasa at 432-2180.

VOLLEYBALL

UH-USC tickets: Tickets are on sale for the women's volleyball exhibition between Hawai'i and NCAA champion Southern California.

The match will be March 18 at 7 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center.

All seats are general admission. Adult tickets are $8, senior citizens (65 and older) $6 and students $4. Tickets are on sale at the Stan Sheriff Center box office.

The Seasiders won the first game, 4-2, behind strong pitching by Traci Bonomi and a bases-clearing double by pinch-hitter Heather Murray in the fifth.

In the second game, Regina Molifua gave up three hits in a 5-0 win.
