Women's golf group to honor Lily K. Yao

By Ann Miller
Advertiser Staff Writer

The Hawai'i State Women's Golf Foundation will host a retirement and 60th birthday dinner for Lily K. Yao, Vice Chair of First Hawaiian Bank, on June 13 at the Hawai'i Prince Hotel.

Yao helped found the HSWGF last year to promote golf among women and juniors in Hawai'i. The dinner will be a benefit for the non-profit foundation, which is affiliated with the Hawai'i State Women's Golf Association. Proceeds will establish the Lily K. Yao Scholarship Fund for college-bound girls.

"Lily Yao has been a pacesetter and role model in banking the past 35 years," said Walter Dods Jr., honorary chair of the benefit. "She also has been a tireless community volunteer contributing her time, talents and skills to causes that she strongly supports. This is both a tribute to Lily for all her endeavors and a benefit for a cause that she passionately believes in."

Tickets are $125 per person. Sponsorships for tables of 10 are also available at $1,250 and $2,500. For reservations and more information, call HSWGF at 589-2046.
