Tips prompt arrest of pair

Two fugitives have been arrested following tips to Honolulu police generated from recent CrimeStopper bulletins.

Officers yesterday responded to an anonymous tip and arrested Blaine Dupont on an burglary indictment warrant at a bus depot in Waipahu at 1 p.m.

Justin Parker of American Medical Response cleans up after an ambulance from the firm downed a utility pole and came to a rest on the steps of Samoan Congregational Christian Church of Honolulu. The accident forced the closure of the 600 block of North School Street. Police said the ambulance driver was taking a patient from one hospital to another when the accident happened and are investigating the cause. A medic tending to the patient was treated for minor injuries.

ries occurred last Sept. 20 at Catlin Park Naval Housing and the other last Friday at Pearl City Naval Housing, in which a .357 Magnum revolver was stolen.

Fugitive Tara Maka, meanwhile, was arrested Monday in Nanakuli on six outstanding traffic and misdemeanor warrants. Police have been seeking to question Maka about the theft of a purse from a car involved in a traffic collision.

Man robs shop, flees on moped

A man armed with a "silver-colored object" last night robbed a Pearl City gift shop.

No one was injured in the 7:25 p.m. robbery at 98-1247 Ka'ahumanu St. The suspect fled on a moped with an undisclosed amount of cash.
