BYUH beats Montana St.-Billings

Alexus Foyle scored a game-high 34 points and 19th-ranked Brigham Young-Hawai'i clinched at least a share of the Pacific West Conference with a 103-89 victory over Montana State-Billings last night at the Cannon Activities Center.

The Seasiders (16-3 overall and 10-2 in the PacWest) secured a berth to NCAA II West Regional Tournament next month.

The front line of Foyle, Austin Smylie, Pablo Broering and C.J. Fellars shot a combined 34-of-51 for the game and scored 80 of BYUH's points.

The Yellowjackets (16-8, 8-6) started the game with seven players and played the last 1:36 with only four players after three fouled out.

Chaminade 86, UH-Hilo 78: Leon Ballard scored a game-high 25 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and Chaminade shot 56 percent from 3-point range to defeat Hawai'i-Hilo in a Pacific West Conference game last night at McCabe Gym.

Ballard, the PacWest's second-leading scorer at 18.3 points per game, made 11-of-18 shots and 3-of-7 free throws for Chaminade (12-13, 7-6). Teammate Roy Stigall III added 17 points, Jason Walters 15 and Bryon Skyes 14.

Stigall made half of Chaminade's 10 3-pointers. Ryan Abrahams scored a team-high 20 points for UH-Hilo (16-9, 8-5) followed by Osadonor Esene 17, Brady Hyde 11, and Kyle Bartholomew 10.

HPU 100, Western New Mexico 81: Marvin Noble scored a team-high 23 points and Leandro Maruoka added 15 points and 10 rebounds as Hawai'i Pacific overcame 12 3-pointers from Western New Mexico en route to Pacific West Conference victory last night at Mid-Pacific Institute.

The Sea Warriors (16-8, 5-7) shot 58.6 percent for the game (41 of 70) and had four players in double figure scoring. Nic Walters scored 20 points and Aaron Abrams added 14.

Matt Enriquez led the Mustangs (3-22, 1-13) with 28 points.
