HMSA reaches anesthesia deal

Patients needing anesthesia services should see lower out-of-pocket costs under an agreement reached between the Hawaii Medical Service Association and The Anesthesia Medical Group Inc.
HMSA said a new provider agreement settles a dispute with the medical group over reimbursements.
The group pulled out of its agreement with HMSA in March 2001 and members who used nonparticipating physicians saw their costs rise.
No details of the agreement were announced.
