Today's Must-See

"Tournament of Roses," 6 a.m., ABC, CBS, NBC (live); 11 a.m., HGTV (tape delay); and Rose Bowl, 11:30 a.m., ABC. On a day filled with spectacle, the Rose Bowl still rules. First, there's the parade with 54 floats, 24 bands and three icons. Bill Cosby, 65, Fred Rogers, 74, and Art Linkletter, 90, are grand marshals of the 114th Tournament of Roses parade. NBC exits at 7:30 a.m.; ABC (which will air the parade commercial-free) exits at 8 a.m.; CBS stays until 8:30 a.m. Later, the game has Oklahoma colliding with Washington State.

Of Note

COTTON BOWL, 6 a.m., Fox. Texas and Louisiana State face off.

OUTBACK BOWL, 6 a.m., ESPN, Michigan and Florida go head-to-head.

GATOR BOWL, 7:30 a.m., NBC. It's Notre Dame vs. North Carolina State.

CAPITAL ONE BOWL, 8 a.m., ABC. Penn State meets Auburn.

"Brian Boitano's Skating Spectacular," 11 a.m., NBC. Boitano always puts on a fun, flashy show. This time he includes Kristi Yamaguchi and Nancy Kerrigan.

Sugar Bowl, 3:30 p.m., ABC. Georgia meets Florida State.

"Through a Child's Eyes: September 11, 2001," 5:30 p.m., HBO. Kids discuss the tragedy with warmth and idealism. There are also disturbing moments as we realize how easy it is for kids to be overwhelmed by jingoism.

"Great Performances: From Vienna: The New Year's Celebration," 8:30 p.m., PBS. Walter Cronkite hosts classics from the Vienna Philharmonic.

"Cedric the Entertainer Presents," 7:30 p.m., Fox. In this very funny episode, Cedric is the Beast to Amy Brassette's Beauty and the pair are in divorce court. She complains that he's yet to be housebroken. In another skit, a cult revolts when their leader's predictions of disaster fail to occur.

"The Wedding Dress" (2001), 8 p.m., CBS. A wedding dress passes through many hands in this well-cast, feel-good drama. It includes good work from Tyne Daly and her daughter, Kathryne Dora Brown.

"The West Wing," 8 p.m., NBC. This rerun is set on the night of the State of the Union address, with Sam trailed by a magazine writer who is also his former fiancée.
