Investigators continue to search for murder victim Kahealani Indreginal's six gold bracelets and for the weapon used in slaying the child, homicide Lt. Bill Kato said yesterday.

Kato confirmed that police have done only one warrant search of a residence. Kato said police have received consent to search several other residences.

Christopher Clayburn Aki, 20, is charged with killing the 11-year-old girl. In a statement to police, Aki said he used a metal pipe to beat the girl and that he threw it into the water at the mouth of Halawa Stream.

Kato said Aki also stated that he threw the bracelets into a trash bin.

"We're getting a lot of information, but we're having a hard time confirming things," Kato said. "It would help if we found the bracelets."

Police are doing the legwork to confirm or disprove Aki's statements about the jewelry and murder weapon, said Kato.
