Waipi'o Little Leaguers were people's choice

The Advertiser asked readers for their pick for the top story in Hawai'i for 2002 in an online survey.

Online readers were asked to vote for their top pick among 17 stories, including UH men's and women's volleyball, UH football, Waipi'o's Little League baseball, Saint Louis' return to state football supremacy, a historic doubleheader involving De La Salle, and Ashley Lelie becoming the first UH player to be picked in the first round of the NFL draft.

A total of 963 votes were tallied. Here are the readers' choices for top Hawai'i sports stories for 2002:
