Twins Brad and Cord Anderson (Iolani '99) shared the Kevin O'Connor Award given to the most inspirational player in the 36th annual Cable Car Classic men's basketball tournament at Santa Clara (Calif.) University.

The award is usually given to players who have overcome adversity or shown leadership and inspiration to their teammates, classmates, etc., Santa Clara sports information director Richard Kilwien explained.

The Anderson twins, having started their careers as walk-ons and playing four years and finally getting their first significant playing time this season, were honored after Santa Clara's 77-71 victory over Princeton on Saturday.

Cord has started all 12 games and Brad five. Between them, they have made better than 50 percent of their field-goal attempts, and averaged 11.6 points and 11.4 rebounds per game. Cord leads Bronco rebounders with 6.7 per game.

Santa Clara (9-3) has won six straight and is ranked No. 23 in the Collegeinsider.com mid-major poll.
