Where to vote in Saturday's special election

 •  Candidate profiles

Advertiser Staff

Voters in Saturday's special election will cast ballots at the same places they voted in the Nov. 30 special election.

Polling places
 •  Big Island
 •  Maui County
 •  Kaua'i County
 •  O'ahu
Polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Voters will need a photo ID with signature, such as a driver's license.

The state Office of Elections is using only 91 of the 192 voting sites in the 2nd Congressional District (rural O'ahu, Neighbor Islands), meaning about half the voters will cast ballots at a different place than they did for the primary and general elections.

The consolidation is aimed at saving money by reducing the number of poll workers.

In the charts linked to in the box at right, the boldface names are of polling places that will be open Saturday. In the third column is a list of polling places that will not be open, but which have been incorporated into the boldface voting site in the left-hand column.

For example, the first entry in the chart shows Ikuo Hisaoka Gym in Kohala on the Big Island will be open. The same entry shows that people who had voted at Kohala Intermediate School in the primary and general elections have been reassigned to vote at Hisaoka Gym on Saturday.
