"On behalf of the family of the late George Y. "Cowboy" Morishima, we would like to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Honolulu Fire Department, which includes search and rescue, the Honolulu Police Department Special Services Division, Officer Phil Camero, Department of Land and Natural Resources personnel, Mabel Kekina and the Hawaiian Trail and Mountain Club, Times Supermarket president Roger Godfrey and to the many family, friends and volunteers who came out to search as well as to offer moral support and encouragement, and to those who gave donations of food and beverages to the searchers.

"Thank you for your generosity. We wish everyone a healthy and safe New Year."
