Police look into infant's injuries

Police are investigating suspicious injuries suffered by a

5-month-old girl, who was discovered to have multiple fractures during a routine checkup last night at Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children.

The infant has at least five fractures. Police, however, are awaiting a physician's report to determine if the child is a victim of abuse before advancing the second-degree assault probe.

Two arrested after gunshot complaint

A motorist's complaint that gunshots were being fired from a pickup truck led to the arrest of two men early today in Makiki on suspicion of being illegally armed.

The men, ages 19 and 18, were arrested at the intersection of Wilder Avenue and Liholiho Street at 3:45 a.m. after a police officer stopped the pickup truck and saw a .357 Magnum revolver and a box of ammunition on the seat.

The older man, who was driving the truck, is a felon. The 18-year-old man was also arrested on an additional count for alleged possession of a detrimental drug.
