Another Rolovich will suit up for UH

Quarterback Jack Rolovich, the younger brother of former University of Hawai'i quarterback Nick Rolovich, yesterday accepted a football scholarship from the Warriors.

Rolovich, who is 6 feet 3 and 207 pounds, has lost only two games during a four-year football career at San Marin High in Novato, Calif.

Rolovich is visiting Hawai'i this weekend, and during last night's UH basketball game, he told The Advertiser, "This is where I want to be."

Rolovich, who made a recruiting visit to California last month, announced his decision to the UH coaches after visiting Aloha Stadium yesterday. He said he will put his commitment in writing Feb. 5, the first day of the NCAA signing period.

"I love what they do in this (run-and-shoot) offense," he said. "Any quarterback would want to play here. I like what my brother did, and hopefully I can make a name for myself, too."

Lori Rolovich said her younger son is "very excited. I'm sure he's got big shoes to fill, but he's up to the challenge."

Last week, the Warriors secured verbal commitments from center Michael Lafaele of Farrington High and cornerback George Perry of Kahuku High. They also reserved four scholarships for players who previously committed to UH but have yet to enroll in school.
