Big Island police ask help finding three missing people

Big Island police are asking for help from the public in locating two East Hawai'i youths who have been missing for months, and a Kona man who was reported missing over the past weekend.

Police have been seeking Derek Rapoza, 13, who has been missing from his Hilo home since Aug. 2.

Rapoza is Filipino-Hawaiian, 5 feet 3 and about 115 pounds, police said. He has a slim build, tan complexion and brown hair with blond highlights on top.

Police are also seeking 16-year-old William Chad Elston, who has been missing from his home in the Puna subdivision of Orchidland since Nov. 11.

Elston is Caucasian, about 6 feet and 150 pounds, with a slim build. He has a fair complexion, short brown hair and light brown eyes. Elston is in need of medication, police said.

Anyone with information about either boy's whereabouts is asked to call Officer Peter Kualii of the Hilo Juvenile Aid Section at (808) 961-2373 or the police nonemergency telephone number at (808) 935-3311.

Police have also announced they are looking for 56-year-old Michael J. Kelley, who was last seen at his shoreline campsite in Keauhou, South Kona, about 6 p.m. Jan. 3.

Kelley is Caucasian, about 6 feet 150 pounds. He has blue eyes, a slim build, fair complexion and neck-length gray hair, and is balding on top.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call officer Michael Silva of the Kona Police Patrol District at (808) 326-4646 or the police nonemergency number at (808) 935-3311.
