2 arrested after woman robbed

Police arrested two men, ages 23 and 19, on suspicion of robbing a Pearl City woman at gunpoint last night as she was going into her apartment building in the 98-400 block of Kamehameha Highway.

The robbery was reported at 11:55 p.m.

The woman, 42, told police one of the two men threatened her with a handgun and demanded money. In a struggle over her purse, the gunman allegedly struck the woman in the face with the gun. The woman called police and the two suspects were found and arrested nearby.

Police recovered a gun and purse.

The woman was treated at Kapiolani Medical Center at Pali Momi for injuries and released.

Assault charges pending in case

Assault charges are pending against two men from Palolo Valley, ages 19 and 18, arrested early Tuesday morning on 10th Avenue in a car that fled the scene of a mobbing at Kawaiku'i Beach Park in 'Aina Haina.

The two men reportedly were among 12 people fighting with two men, both 20 years old, at the park at 1 a.m. They were arrested about 90 minutes after leaving the park. A 16-year-old boy, who was in the car with the two men, was also taken into custody.

One of the two 20-year-old men suffered a facial fracture while the other was treated for cuts on his head.

Bandits rob bar, fleece customers

Police are investigating the robbery of a Ke'eaumoku Street bar on Tuesday afternoon.

A doorman tried to stop a group of three to five men, described as in their 20s and 30s, from entering the establishment around 3:45 p.m., police said.

One of the men flashed a handgun to the doorman, while the other men took money from the cashier and customers before running out of the building, police said.

No suspects have been arrested in the case.
