Event draws 200 gymnasts

More than 200 gymnasts from Canada, Australia, Japan and the Mainland will compete in the 27th annual Aloha Gymfest tomorrow through Sunday at Kailua High School gym.

The Aloha Gymfest, hosted by Kokokahi Gymnastics, is the longest continuously held invitational in the United States.

The event will feature level 10 and elite gymnasts, including former Aloha Gymfest winner Elyse Wong, a Punahou senior who will attend California.

Members of the Canadian National team also will compete.

Cost is $8 adults and $4 children per day. For information, contact Kokokahi Gymnastics at 235-6866.

UHH tennis benefit: A benefit for the University of Hawai'i-Hilo tennis programs will be held Feb. 8 at Waiakea Racquet Club.

Clinics, skills challenges and an exhibition match are scheduled.
