Windward Mall recruiting teens to serve on board

Kane'ohe's Windward Mall is looking for 18 teens in the Windward community to serve on the 2003 Windward Mall Teen Board.

The mall's Teen Board members participate in community service projects, fashion shows, children's activities, career shadowing and more.

Applications are available at the Windward Mall Customer Service Center, near the mall's escalator. Deadline for applications is Jan. 31.

Applicants must be between 12 and 17 years old by Jan. 1, 2003. Candidates must reside on the Windward side, maintain a GPA of 2.5 or greater, demonstrate commitment to volunteerism in the community, and be willing to commit to 10 hours each month to the program.

The members of the Windward Mall Teen Board will represent Windward Mall and the Windward community. New members will be notified in February.

The Windward Mall Teen Board began in 1995. More than 100 teens in the Windward area have served on the board in the past eight years.
