Tonight's Must-See

"Trading Spaces" (9 p.m.) and "What Not to Wear" premiere (10 p.m.), both The Learning Channel. Viewers seem to love "Trading Spaces," especially near the end of each hour. Designers and neighbors have drastically redecorated a room — without input from the homeowner. Then we see the owner's reaction, which usually ranges from delight to tears. This week there's one extra gimmick: That key moment will be shown live. Afterward, catch the premiere of another series based on a British hit. "What Not to Wear" lets people nominate a friend as a fashion emergency. It may sound silly but this first episode works wonderfully because the nominee is so likable. Morna O'Keefe takes no guff. She resents being nominated and resents having two experts insult her choices. Still, she really does need help and she gets it. The transformation in this fun hour is impressive.

Of Note

Skating, 7 p.m., ABC. Here are the U.S. Figure Skating Championships. That will partly include an Olympic rematch with Sarah Hughes and Sasha Cohen. Others include Ann Patrice McDonough.

"FOX NFL Saturday Night," 8 p.m., Fox. The network usually has a lively pre-game show on Sundays, sparked by Terry Bradshaw and Howie Long. Now that moves into prime time on the eve of the games that will determine who goes to the Super Bowl.

"Rolling Stones Live From Madison Square Garden," 7 p.m., HBO. Since the Stones have recently released what's basically a greatest-hits album, we can expect this concert to include lots of classic songs.

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," 9 p.m., NBC. Henry Winkler plays a businessman whose wife has been found slain. That causes police to reinvestigate a similar case.
