Dan Thompson scored 27 points to lead Montana State-Billings to an 89-76 upset win over Brigham Young University-Hawai'i last night in Billings, Mont.
It was just the second PacWest win of the season for the Yellowjackets, who improved to 8-6 overall and 2-4 in league.
BYUH, ranked sixth in the West region, dropped its first league game, in falling to 9-2, 3-1.
The Seasiders were led by Alexus Foyle, who scored 23 points, 18 coming in the first half. Scott Salisbury finished with 19 points and seven rebounds.
Western New Mexico University 81, Hawai'i Pacific, 75: Malcolm Connor led five Mustangs in double figures with 14 points in the win over the Sea Warriors at Silver City, N.M.
Aaron Abrams led the Sea Warriors (12-3, 1-2 PacWest) with 20 points, while Marvin Noble added 17.
The Mustangs are 3-11, 1-5 PacWest.
