FASHION TRENDS
A denim bag with little fuss

By Paula Rath
Advertiser Fashion Writer

Denim ranks perpetually high on the style meter, and so we asked members of The Advertiser's Fashion Forum to give us examples of do-it-yourself creations made from the recycled fabric.

Fashion Forum contributor Rachel Barnette came forward with "It's My Bag!"

How long it took: 1 1/2 hours.

Inspired by: "Simplicity! Something that can go with anything; versatile, but still a little fun."

Materials used: A pair of women's jeans and a pair of baby jeans, both Levis, thread, fabric glue, seam ripper, sewing machine, scissors.

What she did: Cut off the bottom of one leg and sewed it closed, cut out strips and sewed them for straps, cut out pocket and label and used fabric glue to attach the pocket and label. Voila!
