THE LEFT LANE
Celine on a biz blitz

DION
You'd think that motherhood and a 600-gig engagement in Las Vegas would be enough to keep a gal busy. But Celine Dion's plans also include a new CD and a new business partnership. The album, "One Heart," is due in stores March 25, the same day that Dion performs the first of her shows at her new 4,000-seat theater at Caesars Palace. She'll appear on a taped segment of "Oprah" that day, too.

The ad campaign has already begun. Six TV ads for Chrysler incorporating Dion's new single, "I Drove All Night," premiered during the Golden Globe Awards. ("Drove," due on radio today, is a cover of a song previously recorded by Cyndi Lauper and Roy Orbison.) One of the spots will air during the Super Bowl, where Dion will sing "God Bless America."

Songwriting 101

Add songwriting to the high-school curriculum. A pilot program teaching high-schoolers to write music (and maybe a chartbuster, down the line) is being launched with an eight-week session starting tomorrow at Kaimuki High. It's believed to be the first such high-school program in the nation.

The first participants are Darryl Loo's students at Kaimuki, and composer-pianist G. Francis Mlely will lead the session. State schools Superintendent Patricia Hamamoto calls it an "unusual and unique opportunity for our students to acquire the skills and knowledge related to one of Hawai'i's music standards."

Catch me a catch

As "Joe Millionaire" and "The Bachelorette" pare down to the final pairing, three other so-called reality programs will try to win viewers' hearts.

"InStyle Celebrity Weddings," 7 p.m. today on NBC, serves up a frothy mix of "intimate details and wedding day footage." Couples include Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey (pictured above), Shannon Elizabeth of "American Pie," "NYPD Blue's" Sharon Lawrence, Kyle MacLachlan ("Sex and the City"), Tom Arnold and Marc Anthony.

Fox's "Bridezillas," 7 p.m. Monday, promises the nightmare scenario, as brides-to-be "turn from saccharine sweethearts into matrimonial monsters."

"Married by America" (in March, on Fox) will let viewers be matchmakers.
