Cyanotech's net sales rise

Cyanotech Corp., the Big Island maker of BioAstin and other products from micro-algae, reported a net loss of $180,000, or 1 cent per share, in the three months ended Dec. 31. That compared with a net loss of $937,000, or 5 cents per share, in the same period a year ago.

The Kailua, Kona-based company said net sales rose to $2.47 million from $1.92 million a year ago.
