Coast Guard looking for missing pilot, 17

The Coast Guard is searching for a missing airplane piloted by a teenage boy.

The boy, 17, took of alone in a four-seater Cessna from O'ahu at 11:30 a.m., heading for Maui.

He checked in at 12:15 p.m. while flying off the north shore of Moloka'i and he has not been heard from since.

The Coast Guard said the searching was hampered by very poor weather.
