KAHULUI, Maui — The Alexander & Baldwin Foundation has awarded $25,000 to support Maui Community College's Center for Entrepreneurship.

The center, which offers business courses for adults and specialized programs for students, recently launched a partnership with the University of Hawai'iiManoa's Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship and E-Business to host a boot camp for entrepreneurs in the spring.

It also hosted the EntrePrep program, which gave 20 high school juniors an opportunity to attend a summer business institute at Seabury Hall in Makawao.

The students are continuing their education during the school year through internships with local startup firms. Upon completion, they will be awarded $1,000 college scholarships.
