Missing girl, 14, discovered safe

Sabrina Rigg, who was reported missing, was found safe Friday.
Sabrina Rigg, 14-year-old Ka'a'awa girl who disappeared from Kailua on Wednesday, was found at about 8 p.m. Friday in Waikiki.

Police are investigating the reason for her disappearance, said Detective Phil Camero.

When she was reported missing, Rigg had last been seen at the Kailua Recreation Center at 21 S. Kainalu Drive at around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Rigg's grandmother, Rita Miller, issued a statement yesterday extending her gratitude to the police, the news media and "the many Windward side merchants and volunteers who put up hundreds of fliers and focused attention on the missing girl."

Donations revive charity

The Kalihi office of Health Care for the Homeless Project is back in business, thanks to donations by individuals and businesses after thieves made off with five desktop computers, a laptop computer and a VCR on Dec. 11.

"We got more equipment than we lost, which means that we were able to update some of our dinosaur computers and other equipment," said project coordinator Laura E. Thielen.

Donors included Mark Rodden of Hawai'i Supply, Bank of Hawaii, University of Hawai'i Professional Assembly, Wai'anae Coast Comprehensive Health Center and the Affordable Housing and Homeless Alliance.
