What's open, closed on Independence Day

Here's what will be open and closed Independence Day on Friday:

  • Government: Federal, state, county offices, closed.
  • Mail: All post offices closed; no regular business or residential delivery; no pickup from (blue) collection boxes; Express Mail delivered.
  • Libraries: All closed.
  • TheBus: Operating on a holiday schedule.
  • Street parking: Free, except for metered Kalakaua Avenue spaces adjacent to Kapi'olani Park; holiday towaway-zone parking as permitted by sign; municipal lot meters must be fed.
  • Traffic: No coning.
  • Trash: Regular Friday residential and business pickup.
  • Landfills, transfer stations: Open.
  • Open markets: Not operating.
