Two Kalihi men charged in attack

Two Kalihi men were charged yesterday with attempted second-degree murder for allegedly beating a man outside of a Kapalama bar in April.

Bail for Raphael Sakaria, 24, of Kalihi Street, and Paul Mose Togia, 22, of Linapuni Street is set at $75,000 each.

According to a police affidavit filed at District Court, the suspects were identified by a security officer as two of the four men who allegedly beat a 52-year-old man near a bar at 549 Kokea St. on April 21. The victim was found unconscious on the roadway and was struck in the face with either a baseball bat or metal pipe, the report stated.


Motorcyclist who died in crash ID'd

The 58-year-old man killed Sunday in a head-on crash between his motorcycle and a sports utility vehicle on Kaukonahua Road was identified today as George T. Keough of Kailua.


One nabbed, four sought in fight

A 33-year-old man who was attacked with a baseball bat today in Waipahu is in guarded condition at The Queen's Medical Center, police said.

Police arrested a man, 19, and are looking for four others who fled in a van after the confrontation on the 94-300 block of Pupupane Street.

The fight was reported to police at 1:43 a.m.

The case is being investigated as an attempted murder.


Truck, gun used in robbery found

Police recovered a pickup truck and shotgun allegedly used by three men wearing stocking masks who confronted a 33-year-old man yesterday at his Kailua residence. The three men are still at large.

The victim told police he was struck in the head with the butt of a shotgun during the 5:40 p.m. robbery. Police found the truck, which was stolen, abandoned in Waimanalo.
