Farrington hit-and-run kills woman

A pedestrian was killed last night on Farrington Highway in Makaha in a hit-and-run accident, police said.

The accident occurred at about 9 p.m. at the Makaha Valley Road intersection near the 7-Eleven store. Investigators were on the scene late last night, and details were not available.

The victim was identified only as a female. Police said she was hit by a car that left the scene.

Emergency Medical Services district supervisor Mandy Shiraki said the woman was in cardiac arrest when the ambulance arrived. She was pronounced dead at Wai'anae Coast Comprehensive Health Center.
