Islanders' Taylor out with sore hamstring
Advertiser Staff
The Hawaiian Islanders placed leading receiver Nian Taylor on the short term injured reserve list yesterday because of a hamstring injury.
Taylor, who has 64 receptions for 993 yards and 26 touchdowns in 13 arenafootball2 games this season, will miss next week's game against the Tulsa Talons.
He was injured on the second play of last Saturday's 54-36 loss to Quad City.
The Islanders activated fullback/linebacker Vai Notoa from the short term injured reserve list. Notoa, who broke a thumb on June 14 against Peoria, is listed as questionable for next week's game.
The Islanders also received the assignment of Leroy Shelton and placed him on the active roster.
Hawai'i (9-4) can clinch a playoff spot this weekend if Tennessee Valley (12-0) defeats Memphis (5-7).
