Two men were charged yesterday after federal prosecutors said they knowingly took possession of more than 8 pounds of crystal methamphetamine worth about $1 million on the street.

The federal complaint, filed in U.S. District Court, also alleges the two men intended to distribute the drugs.

According to the complaint, Shayne M. Crisolo and Eric Collier took possession of a 22 1/2-by-26-inch cardboard box delivered to them marked "Philips Television," according to separate affidavits filed in federal court by Joyce Alapa and Jason S. Alznauer of the Honolulu High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area task force.

The amount of crystal meth found in the television has an estimated street value of $1 million.

According to the affidavit, the task force officers saw Crisolo accept delivery of the box, with Collier waiting in a Lexus sedan, license number GBJ228. The two men took the box to an 'Eluwene Street address in Kalihi, the court document said.

Crisolo was arrested at 7:45 p.m., about two hours after leaving the 'Eluwene Street residence.

The affidavit saysCrisolo told officers that Collier had been the intended recipient of the parcel. Crisolo said he was promised user amounts of crystal meth to smoke by Collier in exchange for taking delivery of the package.

A detention hearing for Crisolo is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday before Magistrate Leslie Kobayashi.

U.S. Assistant Attorney Constance Hassell declined comment when asked about the status of Collier, who is believed to be still at large.
