Wie entered in Boise skins

BOISE, Idaho — Michelle Wie, who had the longest drives at the U.S. Women's Open, now gets to see how she stacks up against the biggest hitters in golf.

The 13-year-old Punahou School student from Honolulu has been invited to play in a skins game Sept. 15 featuring John Daly, Hank Kuehne and Nancy Lopez during the week of the Boise Open.

Wie accepted a sponsor's exemption to play in the Nationwide Tour event.

Daly has led the PGA Tour in driving distance the past eight years. Kuehne is threatening to end that streak and leads the tour this year at 318.1 yards per measured drive. Daly is second at 310.4 yards.

Wie averaged 281.1 yards in driving distance at Pumpkin Ridge, and her longest drive was 328 yards. She tied for 39th in her first U.S. Women's Open.

The Boise Open will be the second time the 6-foot teen plays against men. She also plans to play on the Canadian Tour the last week in August.
