Tonight's Must-See
"Just Shoot Me," 7 and 7:30 p.m., NBC. Let's credit NBC for putting new, scripted shows into the summer-Saturday void. It has fresh episodes of "Just Shoot Me," which was on the shelf for months. In the first episode, Finch (David Spade) forgot to tell Jack (George Segal) about an important meeting. Now he has to go himself, posing as Jack; meanwhile, Nina tries to reform her party-happy granddaughter and Elliott confronts the old school bully. In the second, Finch goes to his class reunion.
"Hard Ground," 6 & 8 p.m., Hallmark Channel. Two solid pros are at their best with this new western. Burt Reynolds is a convict and Bruce Dern is a lawman. They trek after bad guys. The final action scenes are so-so. Before that, however, we get some strong and silent human drama.
Of Note
"Deep Rising" (1998), 7 p.m., ABC. Bad guys attack a luxury liner unaware that the boat is being attacked by nasty sea monsters. (Maybe they should research their targets first.) Lots of fine actors Treat Williams, Anthony Heald and Wes Studi collect paychecks.
"Critical Assembly," 8 p.m., NBC. In this new movie, some young people think it's a great idea to show how easy it is to build a nuclear bomb. Then terrorists steal the thing. The kids scurry to find and disarm it. Katherine Heigl ("Roswell"), Kerr Smith ("Dawson's Creek") and Michael Beach star.
"Hack," 8 p.m., CBS. This show moves to a new time slot. In tonight's rerun, Mike's passenger is killed by a hit-and-run driver.
"The District," 9 p.m., CBS. In a rerun, Mannion gets so mad at potholes that he feuds with the roads commissioner.
"Dragnet," 9 p.m., ABC. When a college student is killed, people assume it's a failed drug deal. Then the plot builds.
