Advertiser Staff

The Haleakala National Park Headquarters Visitor Center will close for two weeks for a construction project starting Monday.

The closing, through July 26, will allow for repair and replacement of sidewalks and handicapped accessible ramps and for new paving of parking lots.

While the park Headquarters Visitor Center is closed, the Haleakala Visitor Center at the 9,740-foot elevation will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Hosmer Grove road also will be closed for construction from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 21 to Aug. 30. Construction will include road widening, repaving and new parking stalls. Campers will be able to access the campground after 6 p.m. and will need to depart by 7 a.m.
