Moanalua Freeway lanes to be closed
Advertiser Staff
Drivers may want to allow more commute time or chose a different route this morning to get to work, Department of Transportation officials advise.
Two major thoroughfares, part of Moanalua Freeway and part of Kamehameha Highway, will have lane closures today.
A portion of the Moanalua Freeway left lane heading west near Pu'uloa Road will be closed from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for emergency repair work on the road median. The Moanalua Freeway left lane heading east in the same area will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The work became necessary after a vehicle damaged the barrier earlier this month, officials said.
The work along Kamehameha Highway in both directions between Waiahole Valley Road and Ka'a'awa Place was necessary because of drainage improvements.
It will continue from this morning through Friday. At least one lane of traffic will be closed as work continues between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., and contraflow measures may be used.
Motorists are advised to use caution when driving through the work areas.
