Divorce forum set for Thursday

The state Judiciary's Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution is sponsoring a free forum called "Collaborative Law: Maintaining a Positive Relationship Throughout and After Your Divorce," at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Mediation Center of the Pacific, Suite 530 in the Dole Cannery Plaza.

Attorneys Ray Zeason and Jameelah Peer and psychologist Richard Kappenberg will discuss collaborative divorce, how it works and how it can help people survive the breakup of their marriage.

Public meeting for road project

The state Transportation Department will hold a public meeting at 7 p.m. tomorrow to discuss its Fort Weaver Road widening project near Laulaunui Street.

The state is seeking a noise variance permit that will allow work at night to lessen disruption to traffic on Fort Weaver Road during the construction, which is scheduled to begin in March and last through March 2005.

The meeting will be held at Holomua Elementary School, 91-1561 Keaunui Drive.

Plantation Days starts with hike

KOLOA, Kaua'i — Koloa Plantation Days, the weeklong celebration of the plantation era of Kaua'i's south side, starts Saturday with a hike along historic Hapa Road and a Hawaiian-style block party. Festivities run through July 27.
