Tonight's Must-See

"The Bernie Mac Show," 7 and 7:30 p.m., and "Boston Public," 8 p.m., Fox. Yes, it's strange that Fox is dumping two of its best shows on Fridays this summer. Still, we might as well savor these reruns. In the first "Bernie Mac," Bernie wants to crack down on the kids, but his wife doesn't want the grief. In the second, the kids have pet problems. Then comes the first of the "Boston Public" episodes that include Tamyra Gray, the gifted non-winner of "American Idol." She plays a shy student who flashes potential during tryouts for the school musical.

Of Note

"Animal Kidding," 3, 6 and 10 p.m., Animal Planet. This oddity includes hidden-camera stunts, interviews and more. It's "a cute and clever combination of children, animals and a funny guy, Dave Coulier," said Michael Cascio, the cable channel's general manager.

"An American Werewolf in London" (1981), 5 p.m., AMC. Director John Landis managed to merge gore and humor in this oddly entertaining tale. David Naughton stars as a young man who's transformed by a bad bite.

"All Around the Town" (2002), 7 p.m., Pax. This Mary Higgins Clark tale has a college student accused of killing her professor. She doesn't remember it, so a psychiatrist tries to help.

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," 9 p.m., NBC. An extravagant dinner ends violently with sexual assault and four murders. As police investigate, they find this may become a more widespread problem.

"Monk," 10 p.m., USA Network. Now for a much lighter look at murder: Investigating a killing at a circus, Monk finds that things are reversed. He's the calm one. His assistant, Sharona (who is usually unshakable) is afraid of elephants.
