CHARLES W. BASSO, 87, of Honolulu, died July 13, 2003. Born in Shiawassee, Mich. Retired utility supervisor at Public Works Center. Survived by wife, Hannah; daughter, Abigail Chase; sons, Charles and Herbert; stepdaughters, Hanakia Tui, Christine "Ala" Kaneakua, Sybil "Pete" Huihui and Liz Bustillo; stepsons, Gabriel and Tyrone Kaneakua and Samuel Kaauwai; 28 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
