A year after moving from Hawai'i to Pittsburgh to lead one of the nation's largest private construction firms, Denny Watts has resigned as Dick Corp. president and chief executive officer.
Watts, who led Hawai'i's largest contracting business, Fletcher Pacific Construction Co. Ltd. when it was acquired in 1999 by Dick Corp., became chief executive of the billion-dollar building company last July as it tried to work through financial difficulties.
In a statement, Dick Corp. said Watts did an outstanding job, but that Watts and his wife, Janet, decided to pursue other interests.
