How Hawai'i hotels are faring
O'ahu occupancy showed a strong 10.9 percent improvement to 79.4 percent for the week ended Saturday, according to Hospitality Advisors LLC. The increase followed strong gains in domestic arrivals to the island during the second half of the month, according to preliminary state data. Statewide hotel occupancy also improved by 7.2 percent to 80.9 percent for the week. However, statewide average daily rate dropped by 3.5 percent to $139.71.
