KHNL, KFVE getting new news director

By Wayne Harada
Advertiser Staff Writer

KHNL News 8 and sister station K5 The Home Team (KFVE) will have a new news director, Sue Levine, effective Aug. 18. She will be the first woman to hold a news directorship in Island broadcasting.

Levine has been assistant news director at Raycom Media sister stations WOIO/WUAB (CBS and UPN affiliates, respectively), in Cleveland. She succeeds Seth Feldman, who resigned in June to pursue other interests.

"We are very excited to have someone of Sue's caliber coming to lead our news department," said station manager John Fink, in a written statement. "We look forward to Sue helping us attain new heights in the quality of our news coverage and in increased ratings in the coming years." KHNL is the NBC affiliate here, and KFVE is the Warner Bros. station. Both are owned by Montgomery, Ala.-based Raycom Media.

Before joining the Raycom stations, Levine was executive producer at WJBK, a Fox station, in Detroit. She also has held newsroom management and production slots in Miami, New York and Los Angeles.
