Weddings

Julie Kikue Alejado, daughter of John and Arleen Alejado of 'Ewa Beach, and Jeffrey Brandon David, son of Don and Linda David of Albany, Ore., were married on May 14 at Kalihi Union Church. A reception followed at the Hale Koa Hotel and another is planned for Aug. 16 in Albany, Ore. The bride (homeschooled/UH-Manoa bachelor's), now Julie K.A. David, is a dental hygienist. The groom (South Eugene High in Oregon and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University bachelor's) is an airline pilot. The couple lives in Honolulu.

Melissa Shawhan, daughter of Larry Shawhan of Moloka'i and Sandra Shawhan of Maui, and Kirk Aukai Maluo, son of Joe and Sharon Maluo of Honolulu, were married on June 21 at the Kamehameha Schools Chapel. A reception followed at Dole Cannery Ballroom. The bride, formerly of Kala'e, Moloka'i (Baldwin High and UH-Manoa master's), now Melissa Maluo, is a school counselor. The groom (Kamehameha Schools and Arizona State bachelor's) is a firefighter. The couple lives in Waipahu.
