Debbi Sakai's quest for her third national wrestling championship fell just short yesterday when the 2003 Mililani High graduate lost in the 110-pound final of the Asics Girls Junior National Championships at Fargo, N.D.

Claire DuPont of Colorado beat Sakai, 12-8, to win the title.

Sakai had previously won the USGWA High School Championship and USA Fila National Team Trials.

• Selina Perez was pinned by Amanda Chittenden of Michigan at 4:35 to finish eighth at 150 pounds.

• Ashley Truchan pinned Melissa Buster of Alaska in 1:40 to place seventh at 165 pounds.
