A Honolulu Police Department motorcycle officer has been released from the hospital one week after he was injured in a chain-reaction accident near Honokai Hale on Farrington Highway.
Officer David Bega was released from The Queen's Medical Center over the weekend, said Michelle Yu, HPD assistant media liaison.
Motorcycle officer Paul Javier, who suffered spinal injuries, is still in serious condition at Queen's. The collision claimed the lives of motorcycle officer Ryan K. Goto, 35, and 10-year-old Alacia Williams, a Ma'ili Elementary School fifth-grader.
Funeral services for Goto will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Borthwick Mortuary with visitation hours set for 1 to 6 p.m. On Friday, a motorcade will leave the mortuary at 9 a.m. on a route that will pass the Honolulu Police Department's headquarters on Beretania Street.
The motorcade will end at Hawaiian Memorial Park in Kane'ohe, where graveside services will be held at 10 a.m.
