Tonight's Must-See
"Peacemakers" debut, 10 p.m., USA Network. For a crowded moment in time, this series tells us, the Old West and the new forensics overlapped. Tom Berenger stars as a no-nonsense marshal in the 1880s. Suddenly he's working with a Pinkerton man (Peter O'Meara) who has an Ivy League education and a lot of fancy theories about fingerprints and such.
"Watergate Plus 30: Shadow of History," 8 p.m., PBS. In the summer of 1973 many Americans were fascinated by the hearings of the Senate Watergate Committee. Revelations kept coming, and eventually, President Richard Nixon resigned. Now, 30 years later, this documentary catches the perspective of many of the key people.
Of Note
"Race to the Altar" debut, 7 p.m., NBC. This reality show starts with eight couples who are engaged; the only question is which one will win a deluxe wedding. They'll compete, with one couple eliminated each week.
"The Family," 8 p.m., ABC. This show premiered in the spring then faded amid coverage of the Iraq war. Now it's back with a recap of the first three hours in which family members compete for a million-dollar prize. Afterward, there will be six new episodes on Wednesdays.
"Pepsi Smash," 8 p.m., WB. Here's another new night of pop music. It includes Michelle Branch, Simple Plan, Chingy and Interpol.
"Reno 911," 7:30 and 9:30 p.m., Comedy Central. Here's the second episode of this drolly funny "Cops" take-off from the "Viva Variety" people. The episode currently scheduled includes a misadventure with a fireworks truck.
